As a Psychiatric/DD Nurse Supervisor you will perform the following duties:

Nursing Leadership & Supervision

  • Supervise schedule and evaluate nursing staff across assigned shifts.

  • Maintain adequate staffing levels and address operational issues.

  • Recommend employee recognition discipline and leave decisions.

Care Coordination & Clinical Oversight

  • Coordinate and oversee psychiatric and medical nursing care.

  • Assess needs establish nursing priorities and evaluate quality of care.

  • Provide direct nursing care as needed based on needs and staffing levels.

  • Communicate and collaborate with physicians and external agencies regarding care.

Policy Procedure & Program Development

  • Assist in developing implementing and monitoring nursing policies procedures and departmental goals.

  • Contribute to development of care standards aligned with current nursing and medical practices.

  • Serve as a resource to nursing and interdisciplinary staff.

Training & Staff Development

  • Participate in orientation programs for new staff.

  • Plan and deliver in-service training and nursing consultation.

  • Monitor training programs to ensure effective implementation and quality.

Teamwork Communication & Reporting

  • Participate as a member of the interdisciplinary team.

  • Attend meetings seminars and workshops.

  • Prepare and review required reports.

  • Keep the Psych/DD Nurse Director informed of relevant information.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Respond to emergencies and perform other duties as assigned.

Requires current license as registered professional nurse in state of Ohio as issued by Board of Nursing per Section 4723.03 of Revised Code; 24 mos. psychiatric nursing or delivery of nursing services to persons with developmental disabilities; 3 mos. trg. or 3 mos. employee training & development; 3 courses or 9 mos. public relations; 3 courses or 9 mos. counseling.

-Or equivalent of the Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above may be substituted for the experience requirements but not for the mandated licensure.

The Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) is a trauma informed care agency focused on implementing our core values and providing support to people with developmental disabilities. We oversee a statewide system of supportive services that focus on ensuring the health and safety supporting access to community participation and increasing opportunities for meaningful employment. TDC is a residential facility located in Northwest Ohio. We support youth aged 10-17 and adults with developmental disabilities. We have a large rural campus which provides opportunities for our residents to be active in addition to being part of our community. Our direct care staff and nurses provide 24/7 care to the individuals who call TDC home. We focus on support and stabilization so our individuals can integrate into an environment that best meets their wants and needs.
