Job Summary

JOB TITLE: Director of Business Development

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

Strategic Growth & Market Development

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive growth strategy to expand LASIK and refractive surgery patient volume throughout the DFW market.
  • Identify new opportunities in premium IOLs refractive lens exchange and elective procedures positioning the practice as the regional leader in vision correction.
  • Partner with surgeons and administrators to align elective services and sales strategies with clinical capacity and revenue objectives.

Patient Acquisition & Conversion

  • Collaborate with internal and external marketing resources to design and execute high-ROI outreach initiatives (digital traditional community engagement) to drive qualified leads.
  • Optimize the consultation-to-surgery conversion process by enhancing patient experience education and scripting.
  • Collaborate with the Shared Care Team to implement and grow referral programs targeting optometrists primary care physicians and community influencers.
  • Monitor patient journey metrics reducing drop-offs and maximizing treatment acceptance rates.

Lasik

  • Manages the maintenance and repair of all laser equipment ensuring optimal functionality and minimal downtime. Oversees vendor contracts negotiations and relationships with LASIK service providers to support operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness
  • Oversees inventory management within the LASIK suite ensuring adequate stock levels proper storage and timely ordering of supplies to support LASIK procedures
  • Partners with Patient Counselors to coordinate LASIK surgery schedules ensuring accuracy timely communication and alignment with provider and facility availability
  • Implements and oversees post-surgery patient satisfaction initiatives to ensure a positive patient experience and identify opportunities for service improvement
  • Leads the development of a dedicated LASIK Patient Services team implementing training service standards and performance metrics designed to increase LASIK upgrades and deliver premium patient experience

Community Presence & Brand Positioning

  • Design and implement internal processes that best position the practice as the premier destination for LASIK and advanced cataract surgery and promote said services by coordinating public engagement and reputation-building efforts with internal and external marketing resources.
  • Gather patient testimonials and before-and-after storytelling to support Marketings reputation management initiatives.

Sales Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and mentor refractive counselors patient liaisons and elective services teams to meet and exceed monthly procedure goals.
  • Establish KPIs for consultation volume conversion rates and revenue performance.
  • Provide training in sales effectiveness patient communication and objection handling tailored to elective medicine.

Data Analytics & Financial Impact

  • Partner with finance and operations to forecast procedure volume manage P&L responsibilities for elective services and track ROI across initiatives.
  • Leverage CRM and EMR data to segment audiences personalize outreach and refine strategies.
  • Provide regular reports to executive leadership on patient acquisition costs revenue impact and market share gains.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Extensive leadership experience in ophthalmology elective medical or healthcare services with a proven record of growing LASIK and refractive procedure volumes.
  • Demonstrated expertise in patient engagement CRM systems and patient journey analytics.
  • Deep understanding of elective medical consumer behavior and high-value sales processes.
  • Strong leadership communication and physician relationship-building skills.
  • Must be able to travel within DFW market
