Job description
Woodston Personnel is seeking an experienced and board-certified Consultant in Thoracic Surgery to join the surgical team of a leading hospital in Saudi Arabia. The role involves the comprehensive management of patients requiring thoracic surgical interventions including those with lung esophageal mediastinal and pleural diseases. The consultant will lead thoracic surgical services perform complex procedures and contribute to teaching research and clinical development initiatives in a state-of-the-art environment.
Duties and Responsbilities
The consultant will be responsible for -
Perform a broad range of thoracic surgical procedures including but not limited to lung resections (VATS/open) mediastinal tumor excision esophageal surgery pleural decortication and tracheal reconstruction
Manage the full perioperative care of thoracic surgical patients in collaboration with ICU pulmonology oncology and anesthesiology teams
Provide outpatient consultations and long-term follow-up care for thoracic surgical patients
Lead or participate in tumor boards surgical case reviews and multidisciplinary care conferences
Supervise and mentor junior surgical staff residents and fellows
Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical protocols and surgical standards
Participate in hospital committees quality improvement initiatives and research activities
Ensure accurate and thorough clinical documentation and uphold standards of surgical ethics and patient safety
Skills and Computencies
Advanced technical expertise in open and minimally invasive thoracic surgical techniques
Excellent clinical judgment decision-making and patient management skills
Strong leadership and team collaboration capabilities
High-level communication skills with patients families and multidisciplinary colleagues
Commitment to evidence-based practice academic contribution and continuous learning
Full time contracts with excellent renumeration and benefits available

MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
US Board/ FRCS - Irish UK Canadian New Zealand or Australian/ Diploma dEtudes Specialises (DES)/ CIS French Board/ Fachart & Sub- Board/ Fellowship / Board / Fellowship / Sweden / Belgium / Finland / Spain
Must have at least 3-5years of post-consultant or senior specialist experience
Eligible for consultant licensure with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS)
