Job Description

The Windows Server Administrator will provide technical expertise for server administration tuning and ensure all supported servers maintain smooth operations through high-availability and performance Windows Server Administrator will be working independently or in teams and have the ability to effectively gain insight and develop solutions to meet customers business needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer Windows servers: restarts service checks resource usage Event Viewer/syslog analysis
  • Develop PowerShell scripts for evaluation and automation
  • Manage systems using VMware vSphere/vCenter Hyper-V and other virtualization tools
  • Troubleshoot OS DB and middleware network issues; familiar with core protocols
  • Handle Windows server alerts define exceptions and coordinate with security teams
  • Support AD standards (naming conventions delegation models etc.)
  • Process complex tickets and incidents including hardware diagnostics and coordination with HW/DC teams
  • Troubleshoot and dispatch monitoring alerts; handle service request emails and create tickets
  • Follow ticketing best practices to meet SLAs and ensure proper documentation
  • Collaborate with internal and external resolution teams including on-site staff
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of help desk processes and procedures
  • Resolve tickets within scope per defined processes
  • Foster teamwork and positive interdepartmental relationships
  • Assist with call handling during peak times or outages
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the manager

Requirements:

  • Fluency in French and English
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision
  • Ability to proactively learn new technologies processes and search for solutions
  • Ability to apply analytical and investigative skills to resolve serverissues
  • Can research and find solutions when encountering unfamiliar technical situations
  • Windows Server 2003/2008/2012/2022
  • PowerShell scripting
  • Active Directory administration
  • Database (MSSQL Oracle)
  • Backup SW: Data Protector HPE StorageWorks NetBackup etc.
  • A bachelor/masters degree in computer science/information systems or arelevant field would be a plus
