The Opportunity
Our client a well-established commercial law firm in Harrow is looking to appoint an Associate Solicitor Commercial Litigation to join their growing disputes team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded litigator who wants genuine responsibility direct client contact and a clear route to Senior Associate and beyond within a firm that genuinely prioritises its people professional development and worklife balance.
The Role: What Youll Be Doing
As an Associate Solicitor in the Commercial Litigation team you will:
- Manage your own caseloadof commercial disputes including:
- Shareholder and partnership disputes
- Property and land disputes
- Landlord and tenant matters
- Insolvency-related litigation
- General commercial contract disputes
- Report directly to the Head of Department supporting them with:
- Workflow managementacross the team
- Budget and financial performanceof the practice group
- Business development and marketing initiatives
- Work closely with commercial clients providing pragmatic solutions-focused advice
- Contribute to team growth helping to shape processes client care standards and best practice
About You: Experience & Requirements
To be considered for this role you will ideally have:
- Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales
- 36 years PQEinCommercial Litigation(applications slightly outside this range will be considered on merit)
- Strong experiencehandling a mixed caseload of:
- Shareholder / partnership disputes
- Property and landlord & tenant disputes
- Commercial contract disputes
- Insolvency-related matters (desirable)
- Technical skills & competencies:
- Confident withdrafting pleadings witness statements and correspondence
- Experience withADR mediation and settlement negotiations
- Comfortable withcourt proceduresin the County Court and High Court
- Client-facing experience including direct contact with SME and owner-managed business clients
- Acommercial mindset able to balance legal risk with practical business outcomes
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal with excellent attention to detail
- A proactive collaborative approach and a genuine interest inbusiness developmentandgrowing client relationships
Technical Skills & Qualifications
- Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) essential
- Commercial Litigation backgroundfrom a recognised commercial or regional firm
- Solid working knowledge of:
- Civil Procedure Rules (CPR)
- Insolvency Act / Companies Act(advantageous)
- Landlord & tenant legislation
- Confident usingcase management systems and standard Microsoft Office tools
