Job Summary

The Volunteer Childminder provides safe engaging and age-appropriate care for young children while their parents participate in the Nobodys Perfect Parenting Program.

  • Supervise and care for young children during program sessions.
  • Engage children in play and age-appropriate activities.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment.
  • Build positive relationships with children their parents and fellow childminders.

Wed love to hear from people with:

  • Interest in and ability to engage young children in play.
  • Ability to communicate appropriately with children their parents and fellow childminders.

Schedule:

  • 6-week program on Tuesdays starting January 20 until February 24
  • 3-hour shifts from 9:45am to 12:45pm

Required Competencies:

  • Commitment to Mission Vision and Values: Demonstrates and promotes a personal understanding of and appreciation for the mission vision and values of the YMCA of Southern Interior BC.
  • Service Orientated: Deliberately identifies and creates opportunities to enhance each and every individuals YMCA experience. Creates action plans to resolve any service gap areas.
  • Relationship Building and Collaboration: Builds positive interactions listens attentively and communicates effectively to create an open communication environment. Share information best practices and resources with colleagues.

The YMCAs Commitment to Trust Safety and Equality:

Current employees will complete a criminal record re-check process after completing three years of service. Any costs of completing the CRC for current employees will be the responsibility of the Association.
