Position Summary
The Clinician LMHP-E/LMHPprovides assessment counseling and care coordination for individuals with substance use and co-occurring needs served through the Appomattox County SUD grant. This role delivers evidence-based treatment ensures timely documentation collaborates with a multidisciplinary team and maintains all required training and competencies.
Based in Appomattox County the position also involves building and sustaining stakeholder relationships with referral sources. Depending on licensure and agency needs responsibilities may include clinical supervision of residents and/or QMHP-T staff while supporting flexible scheduling to meet client demand.
A valid Virginia drivers license and adherence to agency standards of ethics customer service and teamwork are required.
Required Education and Experience
- Masters Degree from a program that prepares individuals to practice counseling (60-hr Masters Program) which is offered by a college or university accredited by a regional accrediting agency. (Re: 54.1-3500 of the Code of Virginia)
Related Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of and adherence to existing professional ethical standards
- Knowledge and ability to provide evidence-based group/individual therapy
- Knowledge of and ability to complete psychiatrically based assessments
- Ability to form and maintain effective counseling relationships with clients to monitor client movement in the therapy process and terminate the therapeutic relationship in appropriate ways.
- Ability to effectively communicate orally both in person and by telephone
- Ability to effectively communicate in writing and to prepare written documents
- Ability to maintain a consistent and dependable work schedule
- Ability to travel to meetings other campuses and counseling sites
- Ability to respond to emergency situations in a timely and appropriate manner
- Ability to use a personal computer and other office equipment
- Willing and available to work modified schedules (weekends holidays etc.) as required.
- Ability to drive and must possess a valid drivers license. May be called upon to travel to any
