Job Summary
Position: Business Analyst - Senior
Location: Toronto Ontario M3M 0B4 (Onsite)
Must Have:
- Experience delivery in a tight deadline and high-pressure environment
- Strong communication skills leading and hands-on exp.
- experience working on large budget and full life cycle of a project
- Expertise in Business Analysis working visio diagrams and swim lane diagrams
- Ability to define use cases user stories and acceptance criteria for IT solutions.
- Experience leading requirements workshops JAD sessions and stakeholder interviews.
- Strong BA working with stakeholders on the business side.
Nice to have:
Prior OPS experience or public sector exp
Experience and Skill Set Requirements
1. Data & Business Analysis & Requirements Management (35%)
- Proven experience in gathering analyzing and documenting data system and business requirements.
- Expertise in Business Analysis working visio diagrams and swim lane diagrams
- Ability to define use cases user stories and acceptance criteria for IT solutions.
- Strong analytical skills for identifying business problems and proposing solutions.
- Experience in systems re-engineering and workflow optimization.
- Experience with database analysis and SQL language.
2. Stakeholder Engagement & Communication (25%)
- Ability to effectively liaise between business users IT teams and external vendors.
- Experience leading requirements workshops JAD sessions and stakeholder interviews.
- Excellent documentation and presentation skills for communicating business needs to technical teams.
- Strong negotiation and facilitation skills to align diverse stakeholder interests.
3. Technical & Tools Proficiency (15%)
- Hands-on experience with data and business analysis tools including:
- JIRA Confluence Azure DevOps (for requirements tracking & project collaboration).
- Visio Lucidchart MIRO (for process modeling and workflow visualization) figma
- SharePoint MS Teams (for document management & team collaboration).
- Familiarity with data-driven decision-making tools (Power BI SQL Advanced Excel) is a plus.
- Knowledge of ERP CRM or Cloud-based business solutions is an asset.
4. Systems Optimization & Digital Transformation (20%)
- Experience leading systems re-engineering initiatives to improve efficiency.
- Ability to identify automation opportunities and workflow enhancements.
- Understanding of Agile (Scrum Kanban) and Waterfall methodologies to support IT teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
5. Public Sector (OPS) Experience (5%)
- Prior experience working in Ontario Public Sector (OPS) or other government environments.
- Familiarity with OPS governance frameworks (Stage Gate ITIL security policies etc.).
- Understanding of OPS procurement regulatory compliance and service delivery models.
