Product Design Lead Receive

How should global money work How do you take a complex stressful experience and make it simple calming even How do you challenge the way its always been done 

How do you help businesses and customers get paid in the best way for them no matter where in the world the money needs to move from 

How do you collaborate in a human-centred way to ship work youre truly proud of

These are just a few of the challenges a Product Design lead will work on as part of Wises global mission to build an open fair and human financial system. Right now we move 6 billion every month for over 12 million people. But were only 2% done because people without borders deserve money without borders.

What youll be doing:

Youll be working with the cross-functional teams that make up Receive a squad that helps millions of people and businesses get paid.

The Receive squad is central to Wises mission of building an open fair and human financial system and is the foundation of our global account. 

In this role youll enable customers to receive money from all over the world quickly easily and with absolute confidence. It might be a new business getting paid by their first customer friends paying each other back after a meal out or larger companies regularly receiving millions of pounds yen or dollars.

Those payments could be made through a payment link or invoice to a customers account details or straight from one Wise account to another.

But every single payment is important no matter what size or how its made. So youll invest time deeply understanding our customers and their needs designing and delivering experiences that make these transactions clear engaging and effortless. 

 Heres how youll contribute:

• Get to know our customers from micro business owners starting to expand into new markets to larger businesses with many different roles building deep empathy for their diverse needs and the journey from getting paid perfectly the first time to using us as their main account.

• Youll help to drive the design strategy and direction within the receive squad shaping current and future work towards our north star while personally leading critical design initiatives.

• Youll use the full range of Product Design skills to discover design and deliver simple beautifully-crafted experiences that customers love while managing and growing a small team of designers.

• Youll set a high bar for design excellence producing high-quality work no matter how big or small the task may be and elevating the craft of your team to deliver cohesive experiences.

• Youll collaborate across multiple teams and solve complex problems with cross-functional partners balancing hands-on design execution with strategic leadership.

• Youll actively foster a healthy design team culture shaping our collaborative practices and mentoring budding designers while taking responsibility for team performance and business outcomes.

About you:

• Youve got a portfolio of well-crafted impactful work that solves real problems for real people with experience leading teams and personally delivering exceptional design work.

• You have strong visual design and interaction design skills with a passion for high quality fit and finish. Youve worked with design systems to produce beautiful and functional design that scales and experience with motion design is a significant plus.

• You practice evidence-based design and can articulate your decisions clearly and credibly while guiding others to do the same.

• Youre comfortable balancing hands-on design execution with team leadership taking responsibility for both your own craft and your teams growth and performance.

• Youre curious about and have experience with generative AI prototyping tools and see the potential for AI to enhance design processes and user experiences.

Heads up this probably isnt for you if:

• Your experience is mostly in marketing advertising or social media and you have no hands-on experience of product design or UX.

• Youre not comfortable navigating complexity and working in a fast-paced environment
