WHAT YOU WILL DO

onX is seeking an iOS Engineer with a passion for trout fishing and technology. Your focus will be on the complete user journey throughout the TroutRoutes app including onboarding purchasing and map interaction. We practice data-driven decision-making and emphasize this role you will be a part of our Engineering team that works on the TroutRoutes is a great opportunity to be a part of a dynamic growing company focused on making an impact on the business and the TroutRoutes iOS app. This role will serve as the TroutRoutes iOS Engineer at onX and will report toTroutRoutes Engineering Manager.

As an onX iOS Engineer your day to day responsibilities would look like:

• Develop new user-facing features in the TroutRoutes iOS app using UIKit and SwiftUI
• Maintain 3rd party library integrations like marketing technologies and analytics engines.
• Write quality code tests and review pull requests promptly
• Participate in the iOS team architecture and code standard discussions
• Create ideas and solutions that pertain to your teams quarterly mission
• Collaborate effectively with other team members
• Learn when to optimize for speed vs. quality to increase learnings
• Lead by example - embody our company values

LOCATION

onX has created a thriving distributed workforce community across several US locations. This position can be performed from an onX corporate office Basecamp or Connection Hub.

• Corporate Offices: onX was founded in Montana with offices in Missoula and Bozeman. If you prefer to work in an office at least part of the time this is a great option.
• Basecamps: Basecamps are established virtual workforce communities where a sizable number of distributed team members group for work volunteering socializing and adventure.
  • Our current Basecamps are located within a 90-mile radius of the following: Austin TX; Charlotte NC; Denver CO; Kalispell MT; Minneapolis MN; Portland OR; Salt Lake City UT; and Seattle WA.
• Connection Hubs: Connection Hub locations are smaller emerging communities of distributed team members.
  • Our current Connection Hubs are located within a 60-mile radius of the following: Boise ID; Charleston SC; Dallas/Fort Worth TX; Phoenix AZ; Richmond VA; Spokane WA; and Vermont.

WHAT YOULL BRING

• Bachelors degree in computer engineering computer science software engineering or equivalent experience.
• A minimum of Five (5) years of professional software development experience is required where iOS development was your professional focus for at least two (2) or more years.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Curiosity around user behavior and data analysis to inform and improve experiment ideas
• Excitement for the responsibility of maintaining mission critical software for your customers

• Ability to travel bi-annually for multiple days to a corporate office or other onX strategic location such as a Basecamp.

• Experience working with mapping software or apps
• Experience with Analytics client events
• Knowledge of modern iOS development libraries
• Continuous Integration and/or Testing
• Knows when to optimize for speed vs. quality
• Ability to work effectively with a distributed team
• Youre comfortable using AI-assisted tools to improve engineering productivity code quality and velocity and can help your team adopt them effectively.

COMPENSATION

onX is committed to compensating all employees fairly and equitably for their contributions. For this position applicants can expect to make between $130000 to $153000 upon hire. The pay range will vary based on experience skills certifications and education among other factors as required in the job addition full-time onX employees are eligible for a grant of common share options with a vesting schedule and a potential annual bonus of 10% based on company performance.
