Tessera is seeking a detail-oriented Alarm Technician to support the installation maintenance and repair of fire alarm and communication systems. This role focuses primarily on fire alarm systems while also assisting with related communications and alarm equipment. Working under the guidance of a senior Fire Alarm Technician you will ensure all systems meet manufacturer specifications NFPA standards and safety codes.
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
Assist in development implementation and monitoring quality control and safety programs to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
Works on various types of fire alarm systems and related devices by performing one or a combination of the following: component installation maintaining repairing overhauling troubleshooting modifying constructing maintenance level programming and testing.
Applies practical application of technical knowledge of Fire Alarm Panel/Systems principles and determines malfunctions.
Ensure the customer receives a quality product/service that is defect free.
The equipment -- consisting of either many different kinds of Fire Alarm systems/circuits or multiple repetition of the same kind of circuit -- includes but is not limited to the following: (a) electronic transmitting and receiving equipment (e.g. radio and telephone (b) digital and analog computers (c) industrial measuring and controlling equipment (d) integrated alarms and associated fiber optic material for the above.
Assist with performing inspections on completed contract units and documentation to ensure final product meets quality specifications.
Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve unusually complex problems (i.e. those that typically cannot be solved solely by reference to manufacturers manuals or similar documents) in working on Fire alarm equipment. Such problems include resolving problems with equipment and/or systems where documentation is lacking or very vague.
Assist with reviewing maintenance documents historical files and inspection records to note any trends or recurring discrepancies for initiating corrective action plans.
Analyzes system failures and other unusual system occurrences to isolate the source of the problem and determine whether the failure is caused by software hardware or other factors.
Maintain manual and/or computerized central office records including detail records traffic analysis records cable records line records subscriber service records and spare parts inventories.
Run cables key cables or house wire to all telephone sets terminal connectors lugs pins or screws associated with key telephone equipment and/or terminating equipment for non-voice circuits.
Qualifications:
Highschool Diploma/GED is .
0-3 years in Fire Alarms/closely related field.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
Must have experience and knowledge of industry safety standards.
Must be able to communicate effective and professionally
Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
May be to reach kneel walk stand and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.

Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.
Requirements:
A valid state drivers license is with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tesseras insurance.
