Tessera is seeking a skilled Painter Maintenance professional to perform a wide range of painting and finishing services at Naval Base Kitsap Bangor. This role is essential to maintaining the appearance functionality and safety of mission-critical facilities. You will be responsible for painting interior and exterior surfaces preparing and finishing a variety of materials and ensuring that all work is completed to industry standards safety regulations and project specifications. From touch-ups to full-scale renovations your craftsmanship will contribute to the upkeep and professional image of base facilities while supporting Tesseras commitment to quality and excellence.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for painting maintenance or repair the interior and exterior of buildings structures and facilities painting different types of surfaces such as wood drywall plaster metal concrete masonry fiberglass plastic and glass.

  • Tapes flushes repairs and applies texturing wallpaper and acoustic layers on a variety of surfaces. Adjusts colors when necessary; utilizes enhanced finishing skills when appropriate.

  • Responsible for preparing surfaces for the applications of coatings by removing rust scale old paint etc. before applications of new products.

  • Applies materials to new construction existing multi-story buildings alterations and remodeling.

  • Shall paint street and curb markings special parking markings road speed limits caution lines stop bars yield lines and directional markings.

  • Perform wall to wall and entire ceiling painting on an as needed basis during change of occupancy maintenance; spot painting is prohibited.

  • Operates cleans and maintains all painting equipment including brush roll sprayers and electrostatic/pneumatic sprayers pumps etc. Safely stores and labels all materials.

  • Maintains appropriate service and repair records.

  • Responsible for proper storage disposal and spill prevention of all hazardous waste IAW local state and federal laws.

  • This position may be subject to call-back availability based on operational needs.

Qualifications:

  • Highschool Diploma/GED is .

  • 0-3 Years in Painting .

  • Journeyman Level Painter preferred.

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints work plans and maps.

Physical Requirements:

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.

  • May be to reach kneel walk stand and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.

  • Work may require repetitive motion reaching lifting kneeling and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time climbing in and out of a vehicle and up and down stairs may also be .

  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

Requirements:

  • A valid state drivers license is with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tesseras insurance.
