Key responsibilities of the Engineering Managers (Onshore PPE Subsea and WHPA) who report to the General Project Manager are summarized below:
- Monitor the performance of the Design Engineering Contractor(s) to ensure the Design correctness and completeness as well as compliance with the scope of work requirements.
- Maintain a record of the Design Engineering Contractor(s) submittals and control the submittals/correspondence received from the Design Engineering Contractor(s) in a timely manner.
- Ensure that the Design Engineering Contractor(s) has considered the end users requirements as stated in the statement of requirement.
- Control and manage Senior Discipline Engineers of the Project Management Team with respect to Design aspects.
- Evaluate and endorse variation orders/concession request submitted by the Design Engineering Contractor(s) for Companys approval.
- Attend all meetings with Design Engineering Contractor(s) his sub-contractors and Companys Meetings.
- Review and comment on all drawings and documents submitted by the Design Engineering Contractor(s) and ensure the incorporation of all revisions on all documents.
- Assist and monitor and ensure timely submittals of all documents from the Design / Engineering Contractor(s) to all government departments until obtaining the final permits necessary to proceed with the works until final completion.
- Coordinate with regional / home office for technical support required to ensure the correctness and completeness of the Design.
- Review and report to Company (via the Project Controls Manager) all Design / Engineering Contractor(s) monthly reports including areas of concern and recommended plans of action.
- Review the project design strategy and provide recommendation to Company.
- Lead EPMT Disciplines in reviewing Tender Documents for completeness prior to issuing to Bidders.
- Assist in preparing questionnaire for pre-qualification of the Design / Engineering Contractors and Construction Contractors assist in carrying out the pre-qualification and recommending a list of bidders.
- Lead EPMT Design Discipline Engineers in replying to bidders clarifications issuing bulletins and attending technical meetings with bidders during Tender stage.
- Propose alternative materials/systems to improve the Design Operation Future Maintenance and Construction Cost.
- Ensure that all Project Design Documents are controlled recorded and filed as per contact requirements.
Qualifications Experience Knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelor of Science Degree (B. Sc) in Mechanical / Chemical / Structural Engineering from an accredited university.
- 10 years of Oil and Gas Experience.
- 10 years of on shore / offshore engineering experience.
- Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of offshore experience in total with at least the last 35 years spent on offshore projects.
- Excellent spoken and written English and proven ability to write specifications and reports.
