Role & Responsibilities
Execute the design or evaluation of Turbine rotor hardware using sound engineering practices and adhering to business standards practices procedures and product / program requirements.
Work cross functionally with manufacturing to provide dispositions and potential solutions for challenges during the manufacturing cycle based on design expertise and knowledge of static hardware field experience.
Provide guidance and technical direction to others on the team sharing best practices and the latest methods.
Participate and present in formal and informal technical reviews for all design tasks and output with Controlled Title Holders following the documented NPI and RCA Processes.
Maintain broad awareness of efforts within the team to assure technical quality excellence timely completion of work and reviews appropriate use of resources and responsiveness to customer / program needs.
Communicate technical issues within Turbine Module team and with interfacing organizations such as Clearances Aerodynamics Heat Transfer Manufacturing Sourcing Suppliers Materials Engineering Systems Engineering and Customer Service Engineering.
Promote professional growth through coaching and mentoring.
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering / Science from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 12 years of professional experience in Mechanical Engineering or a related Engineering / Science field).
Minimum of 8 years Engineering Experience
GE HA Turbine Rotor Life Extension design & analysis experience
Desired Characteristics
Advanced understanding of Engineering principles and the ability to utilize these skills
Experience with solid modeling and FEA software tools like ANSYS and NX.
Customer satisfaction mindset with strong quality orientation
Effective oral and written communication skills
Effective interpersonal facilitative and organizational skills
Demonstrated ability to work in cross functional teams
Able to interface effectively with all levels of the organization
