The team
Team Focus: Strategically manages and steers Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR) exposures for ING Group representing over 60 billion in exposures (about 6% of INGs balance sheet). Leads a globally integrated function to ensure robust forward-looking and regulatory-compliant management of CCR and settlement risk.
Specific Function
Contribution: Acts as sparring partner for senior business and risk representatives up to MBB/MBB-1 level. Serves as INGs spokesperson to the ECB/JST on CCR obligations findings and regulatory meetings. Owns CCR models and methodologies ensuring compliance and evolution of both regulatory and internal models.
Needs/Challenges: Establishes and leads a team of 35 subject matter experts oversees an 8m annual budget and manages stakeholders at the highest levels. Ensures alignment with INGs risk appetite regulatory expectations and strategic objectives.
Impact: Directly influences INGs risk management practices regulatory compliance and strategic direction in CCR.
Roles and responsibilities
Main Responsibilities:
Build and lead a high-performing global team of 40 FTEs focused on CCR.
Foster a culture of collaboration innovation and accountability.
Provide holistic oversight and control of CCR and settlement risk.
Lead CCR portfolio risk management and ensure compliance globally.
Own and evolve CCR models and methodologies ensuring robust model governance.
Represent ING in regulatory and industry forums and act as spokesperson to ECB/JST.
This role is pivotal for INGs ability to manage CCR at scale meet regulatory demands and drive innovation in risk management.
Specific Tasks and Responsibilities
Build and lead a diverse high-performing CCR team.
Fill >50% of open roles within 6 months.
Ensure no unresolved regulatory findings on CCR.
Provide oversight and control of CCR and settlement risk including portfolio risk management and RAS steering.
Set up CCR Committee/Technical Group and deliver quarterly portfolio reporting.
Own and evolve CCR models (regulatory and internal) ensuring compliance and strategic system solutions.
Represent CCR in product approval and risk governance forums.
Deliver actionable insights and execute agreed actions from CCR reporting.

Education: Advanced degree in Finance Economics Risk Econometrics or related field.
Experience: 15 years in CCR trading risk or financial risk management; leadership in global organizations; expertise in CCR regulatory frameworks (IMM SA-CCR SIMM) risk modelling portfolio management settlement risk XVA collateral risk and stress testing.
Technical/Professional Knowledge: Familiarity with INGs risk governance and regulatory environment; thought leadership in CCR.
Soft Skills: Strategic vision regulatory expertise risk modelling portfolio management stakeholder influence team leadership communication and experience with ECB/JST.
