The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Massachusetts Lowell invites applications for one full-time non tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor to start on Sept 1 2026. The primary responsibilities will be to develop oversee and teach courses which prepare students for the Calculus and higher-level mathematics required of STEM majors. This position is renewable annually potentially leading to an appointment as Associate Teaching Professor following six consecutive years of outstanding performance evaluations.
The successful candidate will teach and coordinate existing precalculus courses for STEM majors. They will also train mentor and supervise instructors teaching assistants (TAs) and learning assistants (LAs). Additionally they will provide oversight of our high school early college initiative math courses (CCA) collaborate with high schools and community colleges to improve student preparedness for university mathematics engage in outreach activities and support our efforts to improve the departments educational mission. This is afull-time benefited Massachusetts Society of Professors/MTA/NEA union position. Anticipated salary range minimum of $65000 to maximum $95500 based on qualifications.
