About the role:
The Lecturer Health Ethics Law and Professionalism will lead unit teaching teams in UG and/or PG programs to deliver unit learning outcomes and continuously improve the student learning experience and outcomes within the Research Scholar Program of the Doctor of Medicine (MD) and across new and existing health ethics law and professionalism units within the MD and other courses. The position will initiate design and conduct productive high-quality research scholarship and creative activities generating high impact outputs in their discipline area. The Lecturer may lead research activities and is expected to engage collaboratively to develop novel research outcomes.

As a Lecturer in Health Ethics and Professionalism you will:

  • Lead unit teaching teams and work collaboratively with other unit teaching teams in the MD course to develop effective unit curricula and learning resources.
  • Design collaborative learning opportunities at the unit level. Support diverse learners by designing accessible and inclusive unit material and practices.
  • Contribute to discipline-based educational or pedagogy research projects and demonstrate an emerging reputation in teaching scholarship and pedagogical research.
  • Initiate design conduct and may lead intra and inter-disciplinary research collaborations to enable major breakthroughs in knowledge and understanding and solutions to complex problems.
  • Supervise and or examine honours and/or HDR students with timely completions and productive high-quality outcomes and provide effective mentoring to HDR students to support professional and career development and employability.

To be successful youll have:

  • PhD in a relevant discipline (e.g. health ethics health law health social sciences).
  • Excellent record of scholarly learning and teaching in UG and/or PG programs or health professional training including innovative curriculum design
  • Emerging reputation in research and scholarship through publications and/or success in obtaining external research funding.
  • Ability to contribute to communities through research.
  • Capacity to contribute to leadership of research and administration.

Special Requirements

  • This position may require the incumbent to travel domestically and/or internationally to attend conferences events and to represent the university.
  • This position requires the incumbent to hold a current Working with children Check
  • As part of Deakins flexible work arrangement the incumbent will be required to work in a blended pattern with weekly attendance on campus.
