What Youll Do:
Do you have a passion for creating high-quality from-scratch pastries Are you an early bird who is productive early in the morning As a pastry cook youll work hard to deliver delicious treats and delectable pastries to all our guests. Youll offer timely and effective customer service to ensure guests walk away satisfied.
Here are some of the tasks youll be responsible for daily:
- Scaling mixing and baking of cakes cookies laminated doughs quick breads Viennoiserie fillings etc. from scratch by correctly following recipes provided.
- Filling decorating and finishing cakes and specialty pastries for retail presentation.
- Contribute creatively to recipe development following a consistent high standard of flavor and aesthetic set by the Pastry Chef.
- Ensure that refrigerated foods and inventory are properly stored rotated and labeled according to food safety guidelines.
Where Youve Been:
Having a degree from a culinary school is preferred but not required. What were really looking for is someone with strong organizational skills and the desire and ability to learn. Being capable of thinking on their feet and being able to keep up in high-pressure situations is essential. If that sounds like you go ahead and apply.
When Youre Here:
This probably goes without saying but youll be on your feet a lot. There will be occasions when you may be carrying/lifting to 50 pounds walking bending/twisting climbing stairs and working on slippery floors. You also must be able to accommodate varying schedules including nights weekends and holidays.
