Are you looking for an opportunity We formally invite you to submit your application to be part of our law enforcement family. Our department is a small department and nestled in approximately 2100 acres of countryside in Brown County Kansas.
The Iowa Tribe Police Department wants the right candidate to excel in their interests of law enforcement be it in traffic enforcement drug investigations or good old fashion community policing.
Officers are encouraged to interact with our community members and children. The Iowa Tribe also has the Casino White Cloud within our patrol area.
Officers perform general police duties consisting of patrol work on an assigned shift conducting preliminary investigations and other miscellaneous public safety related duties.
The Iowa Tribe Reservation boasts many scenic views an abundance of country living in the communities around us and easy travel to larger metropolitan areas.
The Iowa Tribe Police Department is currently seeking applications preferably from post-certified officers from KLETC or FLETC or those eligible for reciprocity.

Preference in filing vacancies is given to qualified Indian candidates in accordance with Indian Preference Act of 1934 (Title 25 USC Section 472). Verification must be submitted with the application if claiming Indian Preference. Consideration will be given to non-Indian applicants in the absence of qualified Indian Preference eligible.

Requirements
Graduation from a standard high school; supplemented by training of a certified law enforcement academy or center; or any combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge ability and skill. Requires the possession of a valid drivers license and a good driving record. Must be able to maintain a proficiency in firearms to Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center (KLETC) Standards. You must be at least 21 years of age at the time of appointment and be free of any felony or domestic violence convictions.
