This role sits at the heart of the Science Department supporting the delivery of outstanding practical science learning across Biology Chemistry and Physics. The ideal candidate will be highly organised proactive safety-conscious and deeply committed to supporting exceptional teaching and learning.
Preparing high-quality practical materials reagents and equipment for KS3 GCSE and A-Level lessons across all science disciplines.
Maintaining stock levels organising chemical storage and ensuring safe disposal of waste in line with CLEAPSS and H&S guidelines.
Managing the organisation calibration and upkeep of laboratory equipment including microscopes glassware electronic measuring devices and specialist apparatus.
Supporting teachers with demonstrations trial experiments and adapting resources to suit lesson requirements.
Overseeing the smooth running of prep rooms ensuring systems are efficient labelled and compliant.
Ensuring all risk assessments COSHH documentation and safety protocols are meticulously followed.
Coordinating with the Head of Science regarding budget planning servicing schedules and resource needs.
Supporting enrichment activities such as STEM clubs science fairs competitions and open evenings.
Playing a key role in creating an engaging stimulating and safe laboratory environment for pupils at all levels.

Science Technician experience or a strong scientific background (lab experience beneficial)
Good understanding of lab safety COSHH CLEAPSS
Highly organised reliable and detail-oriented
Confident preparing complex practicals for Chemistry/Physics/Biology
Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a team
DBS required (or willingness to complete one)
