Job Summary

Director of Nursing Long Term Care

A long-term care organization in the Waterloo New York area is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing to lead clinical operations within a skilled nursing setting. This position offers a competitive annual salary range of approximately 118250 to 137500 depending on experience and includes relocation support.

The Director of Nursing will oversee nursing services promote high standards of resident care and support a professional environment focused on safety regulatory compliance and staff development. The role is responsible for ensuring effective communication resource management performance expectations and continual improvement across the nursing department.

Key Responsibilities
Lead mentor and support nursing staff including nurse managers MDS coordination and safety-related roles.
Ensure compliance with long-term care regulations and organizational policies.
Promote a professional and supportive environment that prioritizes resident well-being dignity and safety.
Encourage critical thinking accountability and engagement among nursing staff.
Participate in quality initiatives and facility rounding to support positive resident outcomes.

Education and Licensure
Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
Masters degree in nursing or a related field preferred.
Current Registered Professional Nurse license in the state of New York.

Experience
Three to five years of managerial experience in a healthcare setting.
Three to five years of experience in long-term care.
Working knowledge of long-term care regulations is preferred.

Additional Qualifications
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and maintain confidentiality.
Demonstrated leadership abilities that foster empowerment development and accountability.
Comfort working with adult and geriatric populations and understanding their care needs.
Ability to perform duties that may involve exposure to bloodborne pathogens in accordance with safety protocols.
