Job Summary

Job Summary:

The CT Technician will perform computed tomography (CT) scans on patients of all ages from neonates to geriatrics in a busy outpatient and emergency department setting. The role involves operating Siemens equipment ensuring patient safety and collaborating with the healthcare team. The technician must be able to work independently and cover weekend shifts if needed.

Responsibilities:

- Perform CT scans of the abdomen pelvis chest head neck spine and musculoskeletal system with and without contrast.
- Prepare and administer contrast media.
- Start peripheral IVs and perform venipuncture.
- Ensure radiation safety and follow isolation precautions.
- Assist with special procedures such as aspirations biopsies drainages and myelography.
- Perform 3D rendering and multiplanar reconstruction (MRP).
- Document patient care and related duties in EPIC.
- Answer unit phone and direct calls accordingly.
- Coordinate equipment/supply needs and report malfunctions.
- Assist in emergency situations.
Required Skills & Certifications:

- Minimum 1 year of experience.
- Adult Acute Care ICU and Emergency Department experience.
- Isolation Precautions.
- Starting Peripheral IVs.
- Venipuncture.
- Abdomen Pelvis & Chest CT skills.
- Head & Neck CT skills.
- Spine and Musculoskeletal CT skills.
- BLS certification.
- ARRT CT certification.
- Must have Siemens experience.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:

- PACS experience.
- Colorectal Studies (rectal contrast) experience.
- Heart CT experience.
- 3D rendering experience.
- Multiplanar reconstruction (MRP) experience.
- Region of Interest (ROI) experience.
- Experience with special procedures: Aspirations Biopsies Brain Perfusion CT arthrography Drainage Myelography.
Special Considerations:

- No RTO after booking; call-offs or additional RTO may result in cancellation.
- No call or float requirements.
- Must be fully available during the first week for orientation which may occur on Wednesday Thursday or Friday.
- Orientation is 16 hours.
- Weekend shifts may be required with a 2-week notice.
Scheduling:
- 40 hours per week.
- 8-hour evening shifts: 1300-2130.
- Schedule determined per unit needs.
