Momento USA is a global technology consulting talent acquisition and creative development firm that addresses clients most pressing needs and challenges. We are currently looking for a Technical Lead (Java Azure API).

Position: Technical Lead (Java Azure API)

Location Natick MA (Onsite for all 5 days)

Duration: Long Term

Role Summary: Act as the technical expert and implementation specialist partnering with the architect to design and build scalable secure and high-performance enterprise applications. The role is deeply hands-on with a strong focus on Java-based microservices Azure API Gateway integrations hybrid connectivity and secure cloud adoption.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design and develop core application services using Java Spring Boot and RESTful APIs.
2. Collaborate with the architect to define service boundaries API contracts and data models.
3. Implement and manage Azure API Gateway integrations including policies for authentication throttling and observability.
4. Develop secure token-based integrations using OAuth 2.0 / OIDC and Azure Key Vault.
5. Build and optimize microservices and event-driven components for transactional and data-intensive workloads.
6. Integrate with Azure services such as Event Hub Cosmos DB and Functions to enable hybrid architectures.
7. Contribute to data pipelines and messaging frameworks supporting analytics and telemetry.
8. Troubleshoot complex issues across distributed systems ensuring performance and reliability.
9. Implement observability best practices - structured logging metrics and tracing across services.
10. Participate in architecture reviews and bring forward practical forward-looking technology solutions aligned with enterprise standards.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 10 12 years of experience in enterprise application development with deep hands-on expertise in Java Spring Boot and distributed systems.
• Strong working knowledge of Azure API Management (API Gateway) - including policy design security configuration and gateway-service integrations.
• Experience with Azure cloud components such as App Services Functions Cosmos DB Event Hub and Key Vault.
• Solid understanding of hybrid integration patterns including secure on-prem cloud connectivity.
• Proven ability to implement API security identity and encryption best practices.
• Familiarity with data pipelines asynchronous messaging (Kafka/Event Hub) and observability tooling.
• Exposure to AI/ML or analytics workflows is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills; able to design and code at production level.
