Days/Hours: Scheduled 40 hours per week; Tuesday - Saturday evening shifts (start time will vary between 11 am and 2 pm)

Job Summary:
The Laboratory Component Technician prepares components from whole blood collections.
Essential Responsibilities
Component preparation including quality control and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs)
Boxing of plasma and other products for manufacturing
Perform and document Preventive Maintenance on all equipment used for component preparation
Troubleshoot problems associated with component preparation or instrumentation
Perform special procedures such as washing of units freezing and deglycerolization
Contribute to review and update of Component SOPs training forms and records and component worksheets and forms
Demonstrates alignment with and adherence to the companys core values in all interactions decisions and work activities; serves as a role model for fostering a positive respectful and ethical workplace culture
Employees in this role are entitled and expected to take compliant meal and rest periods in accordance with California law
This position requires consistent on-time attendance in accordance with company policy. Excessive tardiness or absenteeism may impact performance and employment status.

Qualifications and Skills
Education/Licenses/Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required
Skills
Manufacturing experience preferred
Experience working in a laboratory or the healthcare industry preferred
Basic medical terminology a plus
