How you create meaningful change in healthcare
As a Senior Software Engineer (Devices & Platform) you build the software that powers our 3D scanners and digital backend platform. Your work forms the foundation of our entire clinical process: from scanning a hand to automatically generating an orthosis order to delivering a perfectly fitting brace. Every component you build makes the process more reliable faster and smarter - directly adding value for both our clients and therapists.
You will work across two closely connected domains:
Device Systems (Linux-based)
You develop and maintain applications that run on our scanners and hardware. You ensure these systems become more reliable better connected and faster over time. You define how our devices communicate smoothly and securely with the cloud platform.
Platform Systems (Backend & Cloud)
You expand the backend services and APIs that support the entire process of scanning workflows and orthosis production. You design scalable robust architecture with strong data flows and deliver features from concept to implementation.
Youll work closely with our product design and hardware teams to build solutions that make a real impact in the clinic. Youre both strategic and hands-on: you see the bigger picture translate it into clear deliverables and make sure things get shipped. You will collaborate daily with Harrie Tjebbe Gerald Tristan and Martijn - with potential to grow into a leadership role as we scale.
What youll do
Develop applications for Linux-based devices
Improve backend architecture for scanning and order workflows
Build secure reliable APIs and synchronization services
Optimize networking monitoring and deployment of our device fleet
Solve end-to-end problems: from concept to rollout
Collaborate intensively with hardware product and design teams
Set technical direction and coach team members
Our tech stack
Languages: TypeScript Golang Python
Backend: PostgreSQL Sequelize REST APIs
Device software: Electron Linux bash/system services
Infrastructure: Docker AWS GitHub Actions
Testing: Jest Playwright
Frontend (light): React TypeScript
Job requirements
Who were looking for
Were looking for a senior engineer who thrives at the intersection of hardware and software. Someone who:
Has at least 4 years of experience in backend/systems engineering
Is strong in Linux environments networking and debugging
Designs clean APIs and data models
Builds systems with reliability and performance in mind
Is hands-on pragmatic and autonomous
Enjoys collaborating with hardware teams
Communicates clearly and takes ownership
Speaks fluent English (Dutch is a plus)
