About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Voyage Optimisation Analyst to analyse vessel performance optimise voyage planning and support decision-making for efficient and safe maritime operations. The ideal candidate will work closely with fleet operations and data teams to improve fuel efficiency reduce emissions and enhance voyage outcomes using data-driven insights.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor analyze and optimize vessel voyages for fuel efficiency ETA accuracy and safe routing.
Evaluate weather forecasts metocean data and vessel performance indicators to recommend optimal voyage plans.
Track key KPIs including speed loss fuel consumption engine load CII rating and trim optimization.
Perform pre-voyage mid-voyage and post-voyage analysis using AIS noon reports and sensor data.
Assess risks related to weather piracy zones currents and routing compliance.
Prepare regular reports on voyage performance deviations and fuel efficiency improvements.
Work with voyage optimization software and marine analytics platforms (e.g. StormGeo DNV Veson Navis).
Support decision-making for route changes speed adjustments and operational recommendations.
Collaborate with fleet operations masters and technical teams to ensure alignment with voyage plans.
Contribute to emission reduction efforts aligned with IMO regulations (CII EEXI MRV EU ETS).
Required Skills & Competencies
Maritime Knowledge
Understanding of vessel navigation voyage planning and routing
Knowledge of fuel optimization concepts (speed RPM trim draft)
Familiarity with IMO compliance standards
Technical Skills
AIS/Weather data interpretation
Proficiency in Excel Python or data analytics tools
Experience with voyage optimization platforms (StormGeo DNV Veson Navis etc.)
Ability to assess metocean datasets (wind waves currents)
Exposure to GIS tools (QGIS/ArcGIS) is a plus
Analytical Skills
Strong data interpretation and problem-solving skills
Time-series analysis and performance comparison
KPI analysis (fuel consumption CII score speed loss route deviation)
Soft Skills
Strong communication and reporting skills
