Job Summary and Responsibilities
Performs a variety of routine tasks to support the delivery of safe effective cost-efficient patient care as delegated by the RN. They provide assistance in transporting transferring and lifting. They perform cleaning functions in patient care unit as delegated and perform selected diagnostic tests.
- Provides direct patient care as delegated by RN staff
- Monitors and records vital signs
- Assists in providing personal hygiene and physical care needs
- Accurately measures records and reports intake and output
- Obtains and records daily weight
- Performs blood glucose testing using blood glucose meter
- Reports changes in patients status promptly to RN
- Performs as sitter or patient care companion when needed
- Assists in the admission transfer and discharge process
- Performs unit housekeeping needs.
- Delivers specimens picks up medications and other items
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED Required
- 1 year of previous patient care experience required
- BLS required
