Background

The East Jerusalem Hospitals Network (EJHN) was established in 1997 under the leadership of the late Feisal Husseini uniting major health institutions in East Jerusalem. The Network includes six hospitals: Makassed Augusta Victoria St. John Eye St. Josephs the Palestinian Red Crescent Society and Jerusalem Princess Basma Centre serving as primary referral centers for Palestinians from the West Bank and Gaza. Since its institutionalization in 2003 EJHN has focused on enhancing collaboration quality of services and continuity of care. Guided by the principles of cooperation transparency excellence equality and equity the Network remains committed to delivering high-quality healthcare regardless of an individuals race religion gender or political affiliation.

Purpose of the Position

The Communication Officer is responsible for advancing the visibility public engagement and communication strategy of the East Jerusalem Hospitals Network (EJHN). Working under the supervision of the General Secretary the Officer will enhance EJHNs profile within the Palestinian health sector by producing and disseminating high-quality content that documents activities showcases success stories and strengthens engagement with donors partners and the public. The position is based at Augusta Victoria Hospital (AVH) on the Mount of Olives in East Jerusalem. It plays a key role in supporting internal coordination donor relations and public outreach to promote the mission and impact of EJHN.

Key Responsibilities

Develop content that reflects EJHNs portfolio values and branding to ensure consistent and professional representation across all communication channels.

Develop and publish digital content for EJHNs website and social media platforms to enhance visibility and public engagement.

Manage social media platforms planning scheduling and engagement tracking.

Capture edit and produce multimedia content including photos short videos and reels to document EJHN events campaigns and donor visibility activities.

Liaise with communication focal points across EJHN hospitals.

Assist in communication efforts during emergencies and humanitarian responses.

Qualifications and Requirements.

Bachelors degree in Communications Journalism Media Studies Public Relations or related field.

Minimum three years experience in communications and digital media.

Proven skills in social media management and content creation.

Proficiency in Canva CapCut and similar design/video tools.

Experience in multimedia content production for web and internal platforms.

Skills and Competencies:

Excellent communication skills in English and Arabic.

Strong organizational and time-management abilities.

Skilled in photography video editing and visual storytelling.

Understanding of social media analytics and optimization.

Creative detail-oriented and collaborative mindset.

Strong interpersonal skills for diverse stakeholder engagement.
