We are looking for a researcher to join the Research group for Analytical Food Chemistry at DTU National Food Institute to foster our research in food safety with a particular focus on emerging contaminants with a special focus on contaminants formed during food processing and persistent organic pollutants (POPs).
Responsibilities and qualifications

We expect the successful candidate to strengthen the groups position in research collaborations across academic and non-academic sectors and contribute to grant applications within the research field. The role also involves contribution to teaching and supervising student projects at various levels (BSc MSc PhD).
We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in analytical chemistry food toxicology or related disciplines who is committed to advancing research and education in food safety public health and analytical food chemistry.
As formal qualification you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent)in analytical chemistry food chemistry or a related field or possess an equivalent scientific background. Strong experience in developing and validating analytical methods using both low- and high-resolution mass spectrometry is essential as well as expertise in targeted and non-targeted screening of food contaminants and advanced data analysis. Knowledge of EU food safety regulations particularly those related to contaminants and experience in analyzing complex food matrices are desirable. Experience in designing and implementing analytical strategies for PFAS and N-nitrosamines detection and quantification is a strong advantage.

You must contribute to the teaching of courses. DTU employs two working languages: Danish and English. You are expected to be fluent in at least one of these languages and in time are expected to master both.

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.
Starting date is 1 April 2026 (or according to mutual agreement). The position is a full-time position.
