Whats the role
This role will be responsible for leading the design architecture and implementation of Teradata solutions implementing database security controls and working with application teams and stakeholders to deliver outcomes aligned with business needs. It will also involve enhancing automation using DevOps tools and preparing documentation presentations and workshops.
The role will further drive performance tuning and optimisation across Teradata platforms stay current with emerging Teradata technologies to support strategic planning and act as an escalation point for complex database issues and critical incidents.
What do I need
Essential:
- Architecture & Design: Deep understanding of Teradata database technology stack architecture including infrastructure and storage including deployments in cloud providers like Azure and AWS.
- Database Security: Advanced knowledge of security best practices encryption auditing and compliance requirements.
- Automation & DevOps: Expertise in scripting and tools like Ansible Jenkins Terraform or similar.
- Performance Tuning: Proficiency in using tools and settings for diagnosing and optimising databases.
- Secondary Skills: Exposure to PostgreSQL Cosmos or other NoSQL databases.
Desirable:
- Advanced SQL Python and Shell development skills.
- Engineering and holistic technology stack experience.
- Teradata certification is highly desirable but not mandatory.
