Job Description We are looking for an experienced Senior SAP PM Consultant with experience in the SAP modules PM PP (Production Planning) and WM (Warehouse Management) to support a life sciences transformation program with a strong focus on asset management maintenance operations and operational readiness. This role is designed for professionals who can bridge business and IT teams with deep expertise in SAP Plant Maintenance and adjacent modules.
> Serve as the primary liaison between business users and SAP functional teams for Plant Maintenance and Technical Asset Management.
> Lead business process mapping and ensure alignment with global standards and SAP PM best practices tailored to local Japanese operations in professional Fit-Gap-Analysis.
> Conduct workshops and requirement-gathering sessions with maintenance engineering and operations stakeholders.
> Translate business needs into clear functional specifications and guide implementation teams.
> Support system testing data validation and cutover activities from a maintenance operations perspective.
> Contribute to training materials and change management initiatives focused on maintenance teams.
> Ensure SAP PM processes support compliance traceability and reliability within regulated environments aligned with Japanese pharma and life science standards.
> Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of PM with other SAP modules and workstreams.
Qualifications
> 8 years of hands-on experience with SAP including deep expertise in the PM and WM modules and familiarity with MM FI CO and EHS integration points.
> Proven experience in global or regional SAP implementations including at least 2 full-cycle SAP PM deployments.
> Strong understanding of maintenance planning work order management equipment lifecycle and asset performance processes.
> Advanced configuration skills in SAP PM (e.g. maintenance plans task lists notifications work orders measuring points and breakdown analysis).
> Ability to communicate complex SAP concepts in simple actionable business terms.
> Knowledge of compliance and validation requirements in GxP (Good x Practice) environments.
> Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
> Proficiency in Japanese (JLPT N2 or higher) and English both written and verbal.
> Adaptability to dynamic fast-paced project environments.
> Willingness to travel as needed.
> Experience in regulated industries such as life sciences pharmaceuticals chemicals healthcare food or consulting.
