Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Buyer to join our Supply Chain Operations team in Cork. This role is critical to ensuring the efficient procurement and planning of raw materials for both commercial and clinical manufacturing. The ideal candidate will ensure materials are available in the right quantity at the right time and at the optimal cost while building strong supplier relationships and supporting continuous improvement in supply chain processes.
Hybrid:3 days onsite
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end purchasing process identifying opportunities to improve systems and workflows.
- Manage supplier relationships and performance fostering strategic partnerships to optimize forecasting purchase orders (POs) and invoicing.
- Oversee all aspects of Purchase Order management including creation submission follow-ups updates and closure.
- Plan and forecast material requirements using ERP/MRP systems Min-Max tools and other electronic planning tools to align with production schedules.
- Ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of materials to support clinical and commercial manufacturing.
- Maintain accurate item master data in SAP ensuring up-to-date records and compliance with internal standards.
- Prepare supplier performance scorecards and conduct regular review meetings with suppliers to communicate forecasts and production needs.
- Monitor supplier KPIs escalating issues and recommending corrective actions to management.
- Handle administrative tasks such as processing returns to vendors (RTVs) and resolving PO or invoice discrepancies.

- Responsible for the procurement and planning of raw materials collaborating across teams to ensure timely material availability that meets quality and cost targets while supporting strategic supplier relationships and supply chain excellence.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience in procurement materials planning or supply chain operations ideally within biotech pharmaceutical or manufacturing environments.
- Strong experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP preferred).
- Excellent analytical organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced cross-functional team environment.

Qualifications & Skills: Proven experience in procurement materials planning or supply chain operations ideally within biotech pharmaceutical or manufacturing environments.
