EduTalent Group are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a secondary school in Kent for a reliable and proactive Cover Supervisor to support teaching and learning across the school.
As the Cover Supervisor you will be responsible for supervising whole classes during short-term teacher absences ensuring students remain engaged and focused. When not covering lessons you will use your initiative to support a range of activities including enrichment sessions registration PHSE school trips and exam invigilation.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise classes during short-term teacher absence following lesson plans provided by teachers.
Manage student behaviour and engagement in line with school rules.
Support pupils learning by guiding them through tasks and providing assistance as needed.
Deliver registration and provide notices or information to students attending assemblies when required.
Assist with PHSE delivery enrichment activities and school day trips.
Support internal and external exam invigilation and administration as required.
Use school technology to enhance lessons and learning experiences.
Provide feedback on pupil behaviour engagement and lesson delivery to the Cover Department.
Undertake administrative tasks and participate in INSET and professional development activities.
Contribute to safeguarding and promotion of student welfare in line with school policies.
Requirements
Essential:
Experience working with children of relevant ages.
Knowledge of relevant policies codes of practice and legislation.
Ability to manage classroom behaviour and create a purposeful learning environment.
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification/experience.
Good numeracy and literacy skills.
Ability to use initiative work independently and adapt to changing circumstances.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with students and staff.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
Desirable:
Previous experience as a cover supervisor or teaching assistant.
Experience supporting pupils with additional needs.
Competence in using ICT to support teaching and administration.
Flexibility to assist in trips enrichment or PHSE activities.
