Tooling Mechanical Design Engineer, Amazon Leo

Amazon Leo is Amazons low Earth orbit satellite network. Our mission is to deliver fast reliable internet connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. From individual households to schools hospitals businesses and government agencies Amazon Leo will serve people and organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.

The Tooling Engineer will support the program on path from R&D through design validation into production. You will develop design analyze and implement custom tooling and equipment required for assembling and testing (QTP/ATP) the satellite. You will need to convert the requests from various teams into systems that are easy to use cost effective and addition you will be responsible for project management cost estimate and scheduling. You will manage and support fabrication testing and commissioning of the tooling into manufacturing.

About the team
Amazon Leo is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency high-speed broadband connectivity to un-served and under-served communities around the world.

- 2 years of hardware design and validation of components subsystems and systems experience
- Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering electrical engineering material science physics or equivalent

- Knowledge of SolidWorks or similar CAD experience and understanding of best practices for part design and advanced assemblies

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $86900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
