BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:

The United Nations World Food Programme is the worlds largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger worldwide. The mission of WFP is to help the world achieve Zero Hunger in our lifetimes. Every day WFP works worldwide to ensure that no child goes to bed hungry and that the poorest and most vulnerable particularly women and children can access the nutritious food they need.

The HR Technology and Analytics Branch - HRMOI is responsible for on-going support to critical HR operational processes through the appropriate provision and application of information processes and enabling technologies. It is also responsible for the developing of the HR Division Technology strategy and roadmap that will support integrated talent management processes enable full visibility into our global workforce by deploying a technology solution that integrates people processes data and intelligence from corporate and satellite systems and databases and will provide workforce analytics and tools to support evidence-based decision making across people-related processes (in particular workforce planning recruitment reassignment and deployment to emergencies).

The Branch consists of three teams:

(1) HR Technology Deployment;

(2) HR Systems Administration and Support;

(3) HR Reporting & Analytics.

ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to HCM Project Leads for HCM Core and to HCM Data/Integrations/WSS for respective responsibilities the consultant will have the following key duties:

HCM Core related duties:

Participate in the implementation of Workday through all life cycles stages in close relationship with the Project Manager the Functional leads the project team and Workday consultants: Work with the various HR SMEs (HQ and Field) to review validate and update HR processes related to Core Compensation and/or Time Management in Workday; Collect detailed requirements and work closely with Workday consultant to design and configure the Workday platform escalating concerns and issues to the Functional Lead or Project Manager; Draw HCM test scenarios and conduct testing activities; Contribute to preparation of HCM guidelines/training;

HCM Data Integrations & WSS related:

Support HCM Data Migration as required; Support the development of integrations between Workday and other systems as required; Support remaining WSS forms analyze errors liaise with stakeholders to seek solutions and provide guidance to users worldwide on the system functionality and use;

Other HRMOI duties

Provide subject matter expertise for documentation of HR information systems and processes; Review business processes and propose innovative and streamlined revisions to simplify them; Perform any other duties as required.

DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT:

In the context of WFPs HCM implementation:

  • Functional analysis business requirements & test scenario documentation in the Time Management area of Workday;
  • Functional analysis business requirements & test scenario documentation related to the integration of Workday to the PASport Payroll calculation system;
  • Functional expertise on Core HR including any deliverables required per project plan data migration testing and deployment phases.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Education:

University degree (or equivalent) in Human Resources Management Information Technology or Business Administration.

Experience:

6 to 10 years of postgraduate relevant experience in Human Resources with preferably experience in an international context;

Experience in conducting business analysis data analysis and preparing business requirements for system development in performing testing & system deployment;

Experience in designing business processes and using modelling tools.

Knowledge & Skills:

Expertise in functional analysis testing and training;

Ability to work and deliver results within a highly complex organizational environment (i.e. with diverse team matrix structure highly evolving operational context and staff working hardship locations);

Experience of developing and supporting Data solutions using Tableau or similar software;

Understanding of data modeling techniques;

Advanced use of Microsoft Excel;

Analytical mind and business acumen & strong mathematical skills;

Problem-solving aptitude;

Excellent communication and presentation skills;

Knowledge of HR data time dependent data and workforce analytics an asset.

Languages:

Fluency in oral and written English with an intermediate knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic Chinese French Russian and Spanish) or Portuguese (one of WFPs working languages).
