The Asset Management & Maintenance (AM&M) Systems Engineering Assurance (SEA) office is looking for a Senior Engineering Lead to be the systems engineering and systems assurance expert representatives to provide technical advice to peers and senior management at all levels of the agency.

Reporting to the Senior Manager Systems Engineering Assurance (SEA) the role leads the risk-based assurance audit and support for asset class disciplines during all phases of the asset lifecycle and are responsible for the development of and compliance with technicaland asset management processes specifications and other requirements for the asset class disciplineswithin its assigned area of responsibility.

What will I be doing

Acts as the systems engineering assurance representative for the Rapid Transit Engineering & Asset Management (EAM) organization.
Coordinates technical reviews of the systems assurance submittals including RAMS deliverables and engineering safety assurance cases for compliance with railway industry standards within the scope of the engineering development V-cycle phases.
Reviews and assesses the outcomes of the requirements management process and the Integrated Design Reviews (IDR) assuring the correct traceability to Design Verification and Validation evidence are adequately in place.
Reviews and evaluates the execution ofSystems Engineering process for all Metrolinx assets including systems integration requirements management configuration management integrated design interface management.
Leads the identification of innovative best practices and process improvement to facilitate continuous improvement and operational excellence of the System Engineering Assurance process and best practices.
Applies System Engineering (SE) and Railway Systems principles to ensure appropriate technical and management processes are applied to the entire engineering lifcycle.

What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need

University Degree in Engineering and/or rail sector and related industry experience or a combination of education training and experience deemed equivalent.
Demonstrated experience in Railway Systems or related engineering disciplines or a combination of systems assurance RAMS systems engineering design integration testing and commissioning verification & validation operations and maintenance of railway transit systems or related industries.
Demonstrated experience in applying railway specific standards related to Railway Reliability Availability Maintainability and Safety (RAMS) with regards to new and modified assets. (e.g. EN50126 CMREA orequivalent industry standards)
Experience working with System Engineering industry standards ISO 15288 INCOSE will be an asset.
Experience with system requirements analysis traceability verification and management throughout the entire engineering lifecycle.
Experience with application and deployment of technical management principles and practices including planning technical work configuration management quality management risk management and technical reviews.
Valid Professional Engineering (.) license recognized by the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO) is an asset.
