Provides medical nutrition therapy via individualized and/or group sessions by assessing nutritional status developing nutrition recommendations instructing patients in diet modifications and providing follow up care as needed. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span. The ability to assess data reflective of the patients status and appropriately interpret information relative to the patients age-specific needs is required.
Bachelors degree in nutrition or a related field required; masters degree one year of clinical experience as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics required within four months of hire. Certified Nutritional Support Clinician (CNSC) credential preferred for outpatient GI Dietitians.
