Pay: $18.33 - $24.64
Job summary:This position supports specific School of Nursing academic operations and program outcomes. The secretary works closely with other faculty and staff to facilitate timely and accurate pre-licensure student eligibility for state RN license through the National Council Licensing Exam (NCLEX- RN) process.
Duties and responsibilities:- Familiarize self and students with current state RN application and licensing requirements.
- Assist students with NCLEX-RN application processes.
- Ensure graduate transcripts are sent to accompany NCLEX-RN applications in keeping with state requirements.
- Maintain SON continuing education approval with the Alabama Board of Nursing.
- Oversee distribution of continuing education certificates.
- Assist with SON events including alumni homecoming meetings advisory council nursing dedication FOA seminar or Meet the Firms if requested.
- Assist the undergraduate clinical coordinator and other office staff to document and verify student compliance with agency requirements for clinical practicum experiences as needed.
Special Requirement:Must have a strongly expressed commitment to Jesus Christ the teachings and mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and an SDA church member in good and regular standing.Qualifications:- High attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
- Strong proficiency in Office Suite software and computer applications.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and follow through on tasks.
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work with diverse personalities and remain calm under pressure.
- Flexibility; team player who is willing to learn.
Working conditions and typical physical demands:Indoor private office. Requires sitting standing bending and reaching. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office computer and AV equipment.
