Certified Medical Assistant - Hematology Oncology Clinic

Shift: Full-Time Days Monday-Friday 40 hours/week

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) works with providers and nursing to help support patient care needs in the Hematology and Oncology Clinic. CMA will prepare the patient for examination treatment diagnostic and lab duties patient education and minor surgical coordination and as delegated by the provider/nurse the CMA may complete the following tasks but not limited to taking patient vital signs performs dressing changes supports registration prior authorization answering phones and ordering supplies on the unit.

Education:
Graduate of an accredited program for Medical Assistants.
Experience:
Oncology experience preferred
License(s)/Certification(s):
Current CMA certification for Certified Medical Assistant from AAMA NCCT AMT or NHA.
BLS and Mandatory Reporter certification.
Valid drivers license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Writes reads comprehends and speaks fluent English.
Basic computer knowledge using word processing spreadsheet email and web browser.
Multicultural sensitivity.
Critical thinking skills using independent judgement in making decisions.
Other:
Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
