EXPANDING MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES throughout FLORIDA
We are seeking afull-timeDirector of Inpatient Psychiatric Services to join our team atWakulla Continuum of Care Unitlocated in Crawfordville Floridajust 15 miles Southeast of Tallahassee. As Floridas capital city and home to Florida State University Tallahassee boasts an abundance of dining shopping cultural and sporting opportunities as well as ample opportunities for outdoor recreation and easy access to Floridas famous beaches and state parks.

Lead inpatient psychiatric services while supervising a multidisciplinary team composed of Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners and Mental Health Professionals in a provder friendly environment where clinical care is prioritized. This is one of the most diverse and innovative male institutions in the US. Provide inpatient or outpatient services within this state-of-the-art male correctional institution. Utilize some of the most innovative programing and use of specialized Residential Mental Health Units to assist those with serious mental illness.
The Psychiatrist provides psychiatric evaluation diagnosis and treatment for patients works under the supervision of the Psychiatric Medical Director and provides clinical leadership for a multi-disciplinary team in providing behavioral health services to patients with psychiatric disorders or other mental health issues.
Qualifications
- Documentation of education as MD or DO and completion of accredited residency program required
- Current license to practice medicine as a psychiatrist in Florida required
- Board Certification in Psychiatry
- Must have an active Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration certificate
- Must maintain current tuberculosis documentation and active CPR certification
- Must be able to pass background investigation and obtain agency security clearance where applicable
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience practicing as psychiatrist in a clinical setting preferred
- Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience in a clinical setting
- Experience in correctional mental health care or locked unit preferred

- Monday-Friday
- Day Shift
- All full-time Psychiatrists participate in rotational on-call approximately every 6 to 8 weeks. The on-call lasts for 7 days / 24 hours per day and is compensated above and beyond the guaranteed annual compensation.
