Supervision Received: Receives supervision from the Director of Transportation	Supervision Exercised: Minimal only in the absence of the Director

Job Summary:

Schedule/Deliver training of current/new drivers
Facilitate Annual recertification of Bus/Van Drivers
To oversee daily safety of Bus/Van drivers monitors and aides

Responsibilities:

Work closely with the Director of Transportation Student Safety Committee elementary and secondary schools to continue programs for safety and security procedures for students on the buses
Maintain State of RI compliance on all employees keeping files updated
Schedule training programs for the drivers aides and monitors
Follow the procedures and policies of the Westerly Public Schools and perform other duties required and assigned by the District Transportation Director

Qualifications:

Experience:

3 years experience as a bus driver (preferred)
Computer literate including data input
Extensive knowledge of motor vehicle laws.
Excelled interpersonal and customer service skills.
Excellent time management skills.

Education:

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Skills:

Must hold a valid CDL license with a P and S endorsement
Must hold a valid RI SchoolBus Certificate (White Card)
Compliance with all applicable federal state county district and contract specific Bus Driver requirements.
A thorough knowledge of Federal/State rules and regulations practices procedures and terms; ability to gather information maintain records and product reports; ability to exercise a high degree of initiative and good judgment

Physical Requirements:

Must be 21 years of age or older.
Walk climb stairs bend and lift up to 45lbs.
Prolonged periods of sitting while operating the bus.
