Embedded Software Intern

Fluke is seeking an Embedded Software Intern to join our dynamic Firmware Engineering team in Everett WA for summer 2026! This internship offers an opportunity for a motivated student to gain hands-on experience in developing firmware for our core fluke portfolio products interfacing with external automation and leveraging existing tools and automation for our cutting-edge hardware products. As an intern you will work closely with experienced engineers collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to the improvement of our testing capabilities. Responsibilities

• Develop firmware for an upcoming core product line using.
• Collaborate with the Firmware Engineering team to expand Flukes existing product and platform test coverage.
• Utilize Python and cloud-based systems to create scripts tools and automation to help streamline testing procedures.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand firmware requirements and contribute to the improvement of Flukes platform and product firmware.
• Participate in research and data analysis activities to support specific testing projects.
• Learn and contribute to the product development process actively assisting with process improvements and documentation related to testing procedures.
• Gain hands-on experience in testing hardware and developing software components for a variety of customer applications ensuring the quality of Flukes Test and Measurement products.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work in Everett WA for the summer.
• Currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in software engineering computer engineering computer science or a related field. Graduating December 2026 or later.
• Proficiency in embedded software development concepts including coding in languages such as C/C and Python.
• Experience writing software using a modular or object-oriented approach.
• Exposure to using revision control software (e.g. Git).
• Ability to utilize software debugging and troubleshooting techniques.
• Familiar with writing unit tests using frameworks like Unity or CPPUnit.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Effective written and verbal communication abilities to engage with diverse cross-function teams.
• Ability to thrive both independently and as a valuable team player.
• Possess a growth mindset unafraid to seek help learn from failures question decisions and constantly strive for improvement.
• Inherent desire to support and collaborate with fellow teammates fostering a sense of camaraderie.

We will give preference to candidates with-

• Familiarity with benchtop and computer aided tools for interfacing with embedded systems included but not limited to oscilloscopes power supplies multimeters logic analyzers microcontroller JTAG program/debuggers waveform generators etc.
• Exposure to test automation and cloud-based systems.
• Familiar with ARM core microcontrollers operation and configuration
• Experience with developing embedded code that enables easy configuration and control through user-friendly APIs.
