Responsibilities
The school seeks candidates who can teach marine science lecture and laboratory courses at the introductory level and upper-level lecture and laboratory courses in the areas of fish biology ecology physiology and fisheries science This position typically teaches the equivalent of 8-9 credits per semester (9 12 contact hours). The candidate is expected to develop an active externally funded independent research program involving undergraduate and graduate students that results in peer-reviewed publications. The successful candidate will also participate in curriculum development academic advising recruiting course and program assessment and service to the school college and university.
Qualifications
A Ph.D. in biology marine sciences zoology fisheries or a related field is required. Post-doctoral training is preferred. The successful candidate must have a well-rounded knowledge of biology of fish fisheries ecology fisheries research methods study designs and analyses. Candidates who use techniques that would further our students general preparedness for their future careers (e.g. molecular analysis technology development etc.) and who do fieldwork in regional ecosystems will be strongly considered. Candidates must also demonstrate a commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching and have a record of scholarly productivity; candidates with a record of competitive grant funding are preferable.
