The unit is located onsite at the Maguire Correctional Facility - a San Mateo County jail located in Redwood City CA.
The unit admits and treats patients who are under the conditions of an involuntary civil commitment and provides individualized assessment and treatment interventions aimed at achieving psychiatric stability as soon as clinically appropriate. Services are trauma-informed and rooted in the recovery model.
As a Mental Health Worker with Liberty Healthcare you will fulfill a vital role and be responsible for:
- Establishing and maintaining positive therapeutic relationships with patients
- Leading therapeutic recreation activities with individuals and groups
- Monitoring patient activity and behavior
- Promoting a positive therapeutic milieu
- Safely addressing deescalating and managing aggressive patient behaviors through appropriate interventions and techniques
- Actively participating in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings
- Collaborating with Psychiatrists Psychologists Mental Health Clinicians Registered Nurses and other Mental Health Workers
- Documenting therapeutic interventions observations treatment progress and other patient developments in medical records
In this role you will work alongside an experienced team of clinicians. Youll receive both structured training and hands-on learning opportunities gaining practical skills that strengthen your expertise in mental health care.
