Job Summary

Mechanical Engineer Weekends

Howdens is currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer to join our manufacturing team at our site in Howden East Yorkshire working on the weekend shift.

To be successful in this role you will have completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship and have a strong background in maintenance within a manufacturing environment. Experience working within a proactive safety-focused culture is also essential.

As a weekend mechanical engineer you will work on a range of manufacturing processes and equipment. Your objective will be to drive maintenance improvements and enhance equipment reliability across our operations.

Pay rate: 49263.24 per annum Weekend Shift Allowance 9647.04 per annum

Shift pattern:

Friday Saturday Sunday and Monday every third week (5:45am 6pm)
Could be asked to work different shift patterns depending on the Companys demand.

What will you be doing as a Mechanical Engineer:

Proactive and preventative maintenance
Reactive breakdown maintenance
Continual improvement projects
Ownership and development of specific production line maintenance

What do you need to qualify for the Mechanical Engineer:

Experience in maintaining multi-axis (CNC) manufacturing machinery
Knowledge and experience of high-volume automated manufacturing equipment along with fitting and fabrication skills
Fault finding root-cause analysis and corrective actions
Experience of pneumatics hydraulics robotics and extraction systems is desirable
Experience of computerised maintenance management systems and the development of maintenance tasks is desirable
