Job Summary

As a Kitchen Technician you will be responsible for maintaining troubleshooting and repairing a wide variety of kitchen and refrigeration equipment. Your primary duties will include performing routine maintenance diagnosing and fixing issues and ensuring the efficient operation of all kitchen appliances and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance and Repairs: Perform repairs and maintenance duties on a wide variety of kitchen and refrigeration equipment such as walk-in freezers industrial-sized steam cookers refrigerators ice machines washers ovens dryers dishwashers and water coolers.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure the proper functioning of kitchen equipment and prevent potential issues.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve equipment issues such as leaks malfunctions and inefficiencies in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Installation: Install new kitchen equipment and ensure proper settings on wiring controls. Replace defective or old parts as needed.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with local building codes health and safety regulations and hotel policies. Swiftly correct unsafe conditions in the workplace and report any non-correctable conditions to the supervisor.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities including repairs inspections and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other maintenance workers hotel staff and management to address maintenance needs and ensure a seamless guest experience.
  • Customer Service: Interact courteously with guests and staff addressing kitchen equipment-related concerns and providing excellent customer service.

Qualifications :

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a technical or trade school program in kitchen equipment maintenance is preferred.
  • Experience: Proven experience as a kitchen technician preferably in a hospitality or commercial setting.
  • Strong technical knowledge of kitchen and refrigeration equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor and lift heavy equipment
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in kitchen equipment maintenance or refrigeration.
  • Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures related to kitchen equipment maintenance.
  • Customer Service: Strong customer service skills to address guest concerns and ensure a positive guest experience.
