Job Summary

We are currently seeking a highly enthusiastic and creative Design & Technology ECT to join a high-achieving and forward-thinking secondary school in Taunton. This is a full-time permanent position starting January 2026 offering an excellent opportunity for an early career teacher to develop within a supportive and well-resourced DT Department.

About the Role
As a DT ECT your role will include:
Teaching Design & Technology across KS3KS4
Planning and delivering engaging practical lessons that promote creativity and technical skill
Supporting students with project-based coursework
Contributing to department projects clubs and enrichment activities
Participating fully in the comprehensive ECT induction programme
Collaborating with colleagues to develop curriculum materials and best practice

Experience and Qualifications
Degree in DT Product Design Engineering or related discipline
PGCE with QTS ECTs strongly encouraged to apply
Strong practical skills and confidence using workshop tools and machinery
Passion for design problem-solving and hands-on learning

Salary
Paid to scale MPS
