The Role
You will teach DT across KS3KS5 designing lessons that inspire creativity problem-solving and confidence in both traditional and contemporary design skills. As part of a forward-thinking department youll deliver a curriculum that allows students to explore product design engineering concepts resistant materials and digital manufacturing. Lessons are well-supported by purpose-built workshops laser cutters CNC machinery CAD software and 3D printers enabling students to bring ideas to life through hands-on experimentation.
You will play a key role in shaping a curriculum that emphasises sustainability real-world design challenges and cross-curricular links with Art Science and Computing. The school will actively encourage you to lead or support engineering clubs robotics teams design exhibitions enterprise projects and national competitions such as the Young Engineers Challenge. New initiatives are welcomed and the department values teachers who bring fresh ideas to engage a diverse and enthusiastic student body.
