We are excited to offer a full-time permanent position for a Primary SEN (SEMH) Teacher at a dedicated specialist provision in Hemel Hempstead Hertfordshire starting in January 2026. This role is ideal for someone with experience or a strong interest in working with children who have SEMH needs. For the right candidate there is also potential for a TLR linked to leadership in an area such as behaviour support curriculum development or pastoral care.

The Role
- Position: SEN Teacher (Primary SEMH)
- Location: Hemel Hempstead Hertfordshire

- Contract: Permanent Full-Time
- TLR: Available for the right candidate
In this role you will:
- Teach a small class of primary pupils with SEMH needs supported by experienced teaching assistants
- Develop and deliver creative individualised lessons that engage and support pupils at different developmental levels
- Foster emotional regulation resilience and self-esteem through a trauma-informed approach
- Collaborate with therapists support staff families and external agencies to support holistic development
- Contribute to the wider life of the school with potential to lead on key areas (if applying for TLR)
What Were Looking For
- A qualified teacher (QTS or equivalent) with experience or a strong interest in working with children with SEMH
- A patient compassionate and resilient practitioner who understands the importance of emotional development alongside academic progress
- Someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is committed to inclusive child-centred education
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to build positive trusting relationships
- A reflective educator willing to adapt learn and grow with the role
- Applications welcomed from both experienced teachers and ECTs with a passion for SEN
