Responsibilities of a Year 6 Teacher
- Lead the academic and pastoral development of pupils in their final year of primary education
- Plan and deliver engaging well-structured lessons aligned with the Upper Key Stage 2 curriculum
- Prepare pupils effectively for end-of-year SATs while maintaining a balanced and enriching curriculum
- Track pupil progress identify learning gaps and implement targeted interventions
- Develop pupils writing reading comprehension and mathematical reasoning to a high standard
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding academic progress and wellbeing
- Create a supportive and aspirational classroom environment that promotes confidence independence and resilience
